We’re bringing you a behind the scenes look
at the creation of one of our newest Showit 5 Templates.
All our designs start off with a story.
Lorelai, inspired by our favorite TV character, the one and only, Lorelai Gilmore.
She’s quick, witty and unapologetic about her somewhat unconventional eating habits and coffee addiction. Her daughter is her best friend and she runs a successful and charming Inn. Basically the #girlboss we all want to be BFFs with.
Starting with the Inspiration Board
the brand style was romantic, classic, simple, preppy and luxurious.
Feminine and sweet touches that even Emily and the DAR ladies would approve of.
Luke (and his baseball hat), on the other hand would be shaking his head. Sorry dude.
When designing a brand I always think of how the color palette and typography will go hand-in-hand to add to the story.
The typography is classy and romantic with a Serif and Script font as the main headings and an easy to read sans serif to serve as the body text.
The color palette:
cream, blush, rose, french blue, navy and gold
give a sophistication to the feminine and preppy design.
The submark/icons are a special way to add a friendly and approachable touch.
The Brand Board is a great way to get a feel for the design style.
The Showit 5 Website Template includes a beautiful home page with large slideshow and elegant welcome message to make a professional first impression on your viewers. There is a brief about section to show off your pretty face and instantly make a connection to your future clients. The experience section gives an overview of what it’s like to hire you and what to expect from the sessions. The footer features a place for your Instagram feed to showcase your beautiful work.
The Portfolio page features straightforward and easy to navigate links to showcase your galleries.
One of my favorite parts of the design is the blog. Easily see at a glance the latest posts and the sidebar serves as a great place to put call outs and featured sessions.
